Organizational Functioning & Governance
The Akhil Bhartiya Transport Association functions as a strictly democratic, transparent, and member-driven national federation. Its institutional structure ensures that grassroots transport operators from every district have direct representation at the national executive table.
Governance Framework
General Body (General Assembly)
Composed of accredited delegates from all affiliated State Federations, Zonal Councils, and District Transport Associations. Convenes annually for policy formulation, budget approval, and electoral proceedings.
Management Committee (Executive Board)
The executive governing body responsible for day-to-day administrative operations, crisis interventions, ministerial liaisons, and legal actions across India.
Zonal Administrative Councils
ABTA operations are organized across 5 Zonal Councils for rapid grassroots mobilization:
- North Zone: Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh.
- West Zone: Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Daman & Diu.
- South Zone: Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry.
- East Zone: West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha.
- Central & North-East Zone: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim.
